Fasteroids Remix Launch

And the Linux AppImage attached to this download. Sorry Windows users, you have to wait for a binary. For now please play in the browser version. I am planning a Windows version, just not quite yet.

Years ago I created Fasteroids while learning the basics of GameMaker 1.x. I did the one thing developers tell you never to do, continue making the game. Development of this first game continued for a couple of years and resulted in an over-scoped mess where many of the cool features ended up not working because I kept trying to add more and more features.

With a few more simple games under my belt I decided to go back to basics, rewatch Shaun Spalding's "Your First GameMaker Game" tutorials, and start to re-implement the game from scratch. This time I'm limiting the scope.

This initial release runs much very much like Shaun's code with some minor differences. GameMaker Studio has changed since 1.x, so the code has been updated. I've also added a UFO to the mix. See the project page for a detailed breakdown of the differences this game has over Shaun's code, features that will be implemented, and features I'll be skipping.
