Keys and locks now working, the game is now winnable



Sumash is a (1982) SHAMUS-inspired fan game. This release makes the game now winnable. It's now possible to pick up each coloured key and unlock the associated lock. Doing so will bring down a matching electrical fence, where other coloured keys/locks reside. Once you've unlocked all 3 locks for the level, the game is over. Future versions of the game will include more levels until you reach the Shadow room.

All enemies move in this update. Be careful of the spiral droids, they can shoot, an their aim is pretty accurate. Even 1 spiral droid is a danger in the right spot. You (currently) can only shoot up/down/left/right. I'm working on 8 directional shooting, but right now spiral droids have the advantage. There is a big disadvantage spiral droids have, but I'm going to leave that for you to discover.

When you collect a key, it will show at the bottom. If you unlock the associated lock, a lock will appear in it's place. For example, you pick up the blue key. A blue key appears in the bottom left of the HUD. If you then find and touch the blue lock, and you have the blue key, the lock will replace the blue key in the HUD. If you have the blue key, but find the green lock, only the blue key shows, nothing happens if you touch the green lock (because you don't have the green key yet). Locks indicate a fence has been unlocked.

There are 3 electric fences scattered throughout the level (blue, purple, and green). You have to collect the key and touch the appropriate lock to shut down the electricity for each fence. The last electric fence is close to a transporter, which in the future will transport you to a different level, but as of this release wins the game.

A Windows version is coming, but for now the HTML /web and Linux AppImage are available.
