Invincibility bug fixed


I know I posted an updated version of Fasteroids less than 24 hours ago, but after work this evening I solved the "invincibility bug," a bug that's been plaguing Fasteroids for awhile now. The new zip/executable is up and players are now invincible for a couple of seconds (unless you move) when you first start and when you die and re-spawn.

I'd also like to take the time to thank everyone who has been checking out the project. When I first put the project on itch.io it saw very little traffic. Working full time during the day and having family I don't get as much time as I'd like to work on Fasteroids, so it's encouraging to see eyeballs on the project - even if it's not everyone's cup of tea... (my adult son said yesterday that he felt the game was for young children - I guess I'm young at heart).

I'm now at the stage of improving some more of the artwork, music and effects. There are a couple of tasks I mentioned in my last post that I'm working on. After I finish the tasks I outlined in the last post I'm thinking about:

  • cut scenes / boss level
  • Macintosh / Ubuntu port
  • new guns / rewards
  • single high score system
  • difficulty adjustment

Please download the current version (a499d48 as of this post) and feel free to make any suggestions what you think would make the game more fun.
